Both partners studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. They formed Barker Shorten Architects in 1991.

Simon Barker BSc Hons Dip Arch RIBA

In addition to his work in practice Simon has been a design enabler for public arts projects in Kent and Sussex. He has been a consultant to the Building Research Establishment delivering low energy building design workshops.

He has taught post graduate architectural design at the University of Kent and has acted as brief writer and assessor for RIBA Competitions.

Jaimie Shorten BSc Hons Dip Arch RIBA

Jaimie has previously taught design, and technical studies at the Bartlett UCL and the Architectural Association School of Architecture. He has also been brief writer and assessor for RIBA Competitions .
